Sharla Lair serves as a strategist for the Content & Scholarly Communication Initiatives team at Lyrasis, a non-profit, membership organization. Since 2015, Sharla’s role at Lyrasis has been to advance innovative content licensing and open scholarship. She is particularly interested in better understanding the dynamic relationships between the scholar, publisher, and librarian, and exploring how to facilitate community building around and sustainability of scholarly content and related activities. Sharla has presented and published widely and serves on a number of committees and boards. Currently, she is Chair of the Board of Trustees for the OA Ebook Usage Data Trust, is a member of the joint International Advisory Board of both Diamas and Craft-OA projects funded by the European Union, as well as a member of the inaugural MIT Press Library Advisory Board. She is an active member of the Diamond OA Community, an international community facilitated by Science Europe, cOAlition S, OPERAS, and the French National Research Agency. She also participates in the OPERAS OA Books Network Specialty Interest Group, as well as the Subscribe to Open Community of Practice.
